📍 Out in the Community Today

Good Afternoon,

Today I was out with Councillor Nathan Evans, alongside PC Start and PCSO Robinson, visiting local shops and speaking with residents to better understand their experiences and hear their views on policing and community safety.

It was encouraging to hear so many positive stories about the area, the strength of the local community, and the dedication of our businesses. Taking the time to listen to residents and shop owners helps us ensure that we are focusing our efforts on the issues that matter most.

One issue that continues to be raised is shoplifting, and I want to make our position absolutely clear. Trafford Neighbourhood Team has a zero-tolerance approach to shoplifting. Retail crime is far from victimless. It impacts businesses, staff, customers, and the wider community, and we will not stand by and allow offenders to target hardworking local retailers.

We will continue to work closely with businesses, gather evidence, identify offenders, and take robust action. Those who choose to steal from our local shops should expect to be investigated, arrested where appropriate, and put before the courts. We are committed to protecting our businesses and ensuring Trafford remains a safe place to live, work, and visit.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us today. Your feedback is invaluable and helps shape the priorities of your local neighbourhood policing team.
